The world of banking is changing faster than ever. You can enjoy the best international experience in our IT traineeship
At ING we know that the bank of tomorrow will be different from the bank of today. Our customers themselves are increasingly determining where and how they want to make use of our financial services. As an IT trainee you work on the bank of tomorrow every day. We’re continually working to improve our services by making financial matters simpler and more transparent for our customers. Of course we also work in an ‘agile’ manner: teams with specialists from a variety of disciplines take responsibility for a concrete project from start to finish. This enables us to respond to customer needs much more rapidly. We’re keen to hear your ideas for how we can do that even better and faster.
Above all, ‘change banking’ means taking action. As an Information Technology trainee you can choose from a number of important IT projects, within which you will make a significant contribution. Now more than ever, IT is the beating heart of ING. Terms such as voice inlog, omnichannel, cloud solutions and API platform have become part of the bank’s standard vocabulary with good reason. We have 4.5 million customers who make use of online banking, and our mobile app is among the top ten most popular apps. All departments within our organisation, such as the dealing room, work with state-of-the-art software which we develop in-house.
Based on your own interests, you can indicate your preferences for your first rotation so that we can work together to find a suitable starting role for you. You could set to work as a data scientist, developer or in the area of IT security, for example. These are all projects at the cutting edge of IT and business, with an emphasis on IT. ING takes a customer-centric approach and IT plays a crucial role in that, which is why we are looking for trainees with a real passion for IT.
What do we offer you?
Needless to say we offer you an excellent basic salary for this traineeship( starters position), a 13th month, paid annual leave, an impressive training package and a permanent contract. But above all we offer you the chance to shape your own ideas about banking in a receptive environment and hence to make banking even simpler and more transparent for our customers. Together with other (international) trainees you will participate in global events, which will enable you to quickly build up a large network. There are also opportunities to work outside of the Netherlands.
As a trainee you receive guidance from your line manager, an HR coach and a Senior Manager in a mentor’s role. They will coach you, inspire you, introduce you to their network and share their knowledge and insights with you.
What do we ask of you?
• You have a master degree from a university, preferably in Computer Science, Informatics, Software/Computer Engineering or Mathematics.
• You have a demonstrable and indomitable passion for IT.
• You are enthusiastic and consider the interests of our customers and your colleagues.
• You have an innovative take on banking and an unconditional drive to turn your ideas into reality.
