Lunch Lecture Picnic
Picnic has its very own automated fulfillment centers in Utrecht, Dordrecht and Oberhausen where thousands of crates race over conveyors every day. It’s up to Picnic’s software to make sure that all crates go in the right direction and arrive at the right time. In order to do this, Picnic has developed a fully in-house Warehouse Control System that does exactly this. During this presentation we will tour through Picnic’s first automated warehouse in Utrecht covering all the important automation flows and how the hardware and software operate together to create the optimal fulfillment flow. The presentation will touch on problems faced during production and testing, and how they were solved, ranging from hardware limitations to accounting for scalability due to Picnic’s rapidly growing customer base.
