Lunch Lecture Start-up – Sherpa Digital
Sherpa Digital is reprogramming a Unitree quadruped robot to become increasingly autonomous each day.
Where it was previously controlled by a remote, they are now working toward
fully software-driven movement: walking independently, maintaining
balance, and safely navigating difficult terrain. In parallel, they are
programming an intelligent vacuum arm, enabling the robot to help with
routine and physically demanding tasks. Not to replace, but to assist.
The development includes aspects of classical robotics, computer vision, inverse kinematics, and much more.
But this is only the start. Soon, they will expand into humanoid robots,
providing a range of practical robotics applications to large customers
such as Vebego, NS, UvA, and PostNL. They are among the first in the
country to provide physical AI that works alongside humans.
Sherpa Digital is primarily an AI start-up. They help businesses find
human-focused AI solutions to whatever problems they face. In their own
words: “No buzzwords, but steps that work. For organisations that want
to grow – without losing themselves.” They will integrate their vast
knowledge of (gen-)AI to work towards complete robotics solutions.
As a bonus, one of the speakers is an old board member of CH. He will
explain how he applies the knowledge of his Applied Mathematics
bachelor’s degree to add value to this project.
