Lunch Lecture – Deltares
Life in the Netherlands is constantly under pressure from the environment. Storms like Dudley and Eunice remind us of the need of a well maintained system of levees and structures that keeps our feet dry even under the conditions of the most exceptional storms. A large contributor of our safety is the ability to predict how this defense system will behave under these extreme conditions.
In this presentation Joël van den Berg will talk about the projects he has been involved in that show how the knowledge at Deltares is formalized in models and software that is being used by different organizations in the Netherlands which are responsible for the conditions of the levees and structures in the Netherlands. Furthermore, he will talk about the envisioned future of software development at Deltares by introducing the digital transformation that is currently taking place.
