In the past decades there have been many discussions on whether climate has changed during the past century or not, and if so, what can be identified as underlying causes. In this presentation, we will stochastically model the average winter temperature in De Bilt, both under the null hypothesis of stationarity as under the alternative of an increasing trend. For the latter, an elegant projection algorithm will be introduced. To actually perform the test within the model, a permutation test is performed.
