What do you get when you combine speed chess, sumo wrestling and a /Pub full of cheering students?
Exactly: the Sumo Chess Tournament.
Join us for a completely ridiculous combination of physical and mental competition! Two players will battle it out on the chessboard, only to be interrupted every few minutes by a 30-second sumo wrestling showdown in giant sumo suits. Then back to chess. Then back to sumo. And so on, until someone finally comes out on top.

🏆 The Tournament
There are only 16 spots in the tournament, competing in a knockout bracket to become the ultimate Sumo Chess Champion.
Each match works like this:
♟️ 2 minutes of speed chess
🤼 30 seconds of sumo wrestling
♟️ 2 minutes of speed chess
🤼 30 seconds of sumo wrestling
♟️ 2 minutes of speed chess
Think you’re good at chess? Great.
Think you’re just really strong? Also great.
Think you can do both while wearing a giant sumo suit? Even better.
The tournament spots are almost full, so if you want to compete, fill in the form ASAP. The first 16 people to sign up get a spot. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!
